A Date For Daniel's Sake
On November 10, 2019 Tears From Daniel held our first major fundraising event, A Date for Daniel’s Sake. This Bachelor & Bachelorette style Date Auction & Community Dinner was held to raise awareness of the issue of Suicide in today’s society, and to work toward our goal of bringing a community mental health center to the Cadillac area in an effort to counter the alarmingly growing increase in the suicide rate in the area.
We would like to thank The Raven Brewing & BBQ in Cadillac for hosting our event, the local businesses that generously sponsored our Bachelors & Bachelorettes, the businesses that volunteered their goods and services towards the gift baskets that were part of the auction packages, the men & women who bravely stepped up on stage as our Auctionees, our Emcee, Dean Armstrong of 96.7 - The Bull, and Auctionee Escorts, Derek Tate of My26 News and Shanlynn Cockeram, Music by Mike Looks, Rich Spicer of 107.9 WCDY, and all our numerous volunteers who worked behind the scenes supporting the evening. And of course, we wish to thank all of you who took the time out of your night to come out and support our cause. Due to your generosity in purchasing tickets to the event, and bidding in the auction, we took a big step in getting our message out and taking that first step towards making a community center a reality.
But this night was just the first step in a long journey. There is still much work to be done before our goal becomes a reality. Please follow us here, and on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/tearsfromdaniel/ to stay informed on future news and events.
If you need help, reach out. If you suspect somebody else needs help, reach out to them. End the stigma, and bring this tragic issue into the light. Every life affects the lives of all those around them. And the loss of one lessens us all. Together, we can make a difference, one life at a time.
